Stewardship is a way of
life, a way of thanking God for all His blessings by
returning a portion of the time, talent and treasure
allotted to us.

It
is based on the spiritual principles of the Old Testament
and the teachings of Jesus. Click here for the Biblical

This
is what is said about stewardship in the Diocesan Pastoral
Plan Go out and Bear Fruit.
Everything we have is
a gift from God. We are stewards of the gift of creation and
all that life brings: our time, our treasure our talents and
one another. Therefore we have a duty to ensure that we
make the best use of all we have, and that we do this in
away which respects the dignity of every person and promotes
the common good. (Page 28)

Stewardship –Giving Thanks
Stewardship is also about
thanking God for all that he has given us, especially the
gift of faith. God has blessed us with so much, the gift of
creation, our relationships with one another, the gifts and
talents that are to be found in every person. We are
keepers of all that we have been blessed with.
However stewardship is
about not only being good keepers of all that God has given
us but ensuring that these gifts are passed on from
generation to generation.

Good stewardship is
seeking the answers to questions like:
 |
In what ways am I a good
steward of what God has given to me? |
 |
Do I make good use of my
time for work, for rest, for building up the kingdom of
heaven here on earth? |
 |
Do I do too much?
|
 |
Do I do too little? |
 |
Do I share my gifts and
talents with others? |
 |
Do I take good care of my
financial resources and ensure that I respond to the needs
of my neighbour, my local community, my parish as far as I
am able? |
