Marriage Preparation: Jersey

Marriage Preparation on the island is delivered by three married couples, and consists of three 2 hour sessions shared over three evenings. The formation is loosely based on the original Hallam programme, and includes sections on Feelings, Listening, Change & Conflict, Family Influence, Intimacy, Sex & Sexuality, Natural Family Planning, and the Sacrament of Marriage. The formation is delivered using powerpoint, and includes a good deal of interaction between the couples.
 
The couples use other tools to assist them in their formation - interesting handouts and even stones which are used to help describe the characters of individual family members. Music is also used, and includes Christy Moore's 'The Voyage'. A variety of books, leaflets and magazines on Marriage are also made available. Refreshments are provided during each session and an evaluation form is completed on the final evening.
