Bereavement & Loss

Loss and bereavement takes many forms and is a reality in family life.  It is a vital part of the Church's mission to support all those coping with loss and bereavement through prayer, liturgy, companionship and practical support.

Loss and Bereavement Support Groups

Bereavement & Loss Support Group Handbook

The diocese is currently seeking to promote the development and growth of loss and bereavement support groups throughout its area.  Many exist already and have a wealth of experience in supporting people following death and loss in other forms.  If you are interested in establishing a group or growing and existing one please get in contact with the Advisor for Marriage and Family Life kbabei @ portsmouthdiocese.org.uk.

Listening

In supporting loss and bereavement one skill that is vital to all is that of listening.  Working in partnership with Acorn Christian Healing the diocese has begun delivering training in this area and is growing provision as fast as possible.
