Diocesan training courses

 

 

for all ministers involved

in services in the absence of a priest are available on a pastoral area basis and have already taken place in the following areas: Alton (Jan 2002) - Basingstoke (Mar/Apr 2003) - Fareham Nov 2000) - Reading (Feb 2000) - Southampton (May 2001) - Winchester (Sept 2001) - Christchurch (Nov 2006) - Isle of Wight (Dec 2008) - Hampshire Downs (Oct 2010)

They are frequently conducted by a team of three consisting of Paul Inwood, Angela Wills and Fr Joe McNerney. The course can take place on a series of weekday evenings, or one weekday evening and a Saturday of the following week.

A short course is scheduled to take place in Havant on 19 June 2012.

A diocesan booklet - Celebrations of the Divine Office with Communion and of the Word with Communion for Weekday celebrations in the absence of a priest is also available free of charge to all parishes for the use of all ministers in these services (but are not necessary for the congregation). It gives sample formats and practical guidelines and texts, and is designed to be used in conjunction with the diocesan training course.

Two supplementary sheets are available to update the booklet in the light of the new translation of the Roman Missal.
