Following our successful “Loud & Clear?” Conference in 2004, a second Conference organised by the three Dioceses of Plymouth, Clifton and Portsmouth, is to be held at Exeter University in 2007. Our three Diocesan Bishops will be present at this exciting gathering of priests and lay people, which will build upon the successful 2004 Loud & Clear Conference.

We look forward to welcoming four keynote speakers.  Two are “home-grown” - Nicholas King SJ and Daniel O’Leary.

Fr Nick King SJNick was born in Bath and has a wide-ranging knowledge of the Church having taught in universities and schools in England as well as spending many years in South Africa.  He is an author, columnist and respected scripture scholar.  He has recently published a ground-breaking translation of the New Testament.  Nick currently lectures at Oxford University.

Fr Daniel O'LearyDaniel O’Leary, author and speaker, is a retired priest of the Diocese of Leeds, who will be known to many from his regular column in The Tablet.   He was formerly the Episcopal Vicar for Christian Formation in the Diocese of Leeds and head of the Religious Studies Department of St Mary’s College in Twickenham.

Bill HuebschFrom the United States we look forward to welcoming Bill Huebsch, author and international workshop leader.  Bill established the Vatican II Project and was author of Vatican II in Plain English.  He has worked widely with teachers and catechists in many countries.  His latest project:  Growing Faith is an intentional and systematic adult catechetical process based entirely on the Catechism of the Catholic Church.

Megan McKennaMegan McKenna is an internationally known author, lecturer, retreat leader and spiritual director.  Her books include And Morning Came – Scriptures of the Resurrection, Praying the Rosary and Send my Roots Rain.

In addition to this, a choice of workshops will enable people to explore the ways in which we are called to live God’s word today.
