Renewing Facilities

We face major challenges to the physical upkeep of our churches, with many existing facilities needing to be modernised, renovated or restored.  In some cases, local parishes are able to fund the work on their own, but increasingly parishes and pastoral areas require assistance from the Diocese in the form of interest free loans. Parishes have an excellent record of paying back these loans in full, but a much larger central fund is required.

The success of Living Our Faith, coupled with a Diocesan commitment to add to this fund through the sale of surplus properties, will enable parishes to fast-track more capital improvement and/or parish expansion projects, especially in areas where the Church is growing. Living Our Faith will also make loans or grants to fund innovative strategies for fostering parish growth.

Our forefathers faced enormous challenges as they built our parishes physically and spiritually. Living Our Faith is an opportunity to continue their work and pass along to future generations a stronger, more vibrant Church.
