Missio is the new name for the Pontifical Mission Societies in England and Wales. Missio provides spiritual and financial support to all 1,069 mission dioceses around the world. Missio has four branches: the APF, SPA, Mission Together and the PMU. Together they form the Catholic Church's official support organisation for the spreading of the Gospel in the world, especially in countries where the Church is new, young or poor.

MISSIO has four branches:

Association for the Propogation of the Faith (A.P.F.) which seeks to support by prayer and sacrifice all 1,069 mission dioceses in the world. Funds are raised through the World mission Sunday Collection, annual contributions and the Red Box donations;

Mission Together/Holy Childhood encourages children in Primary Schools and Catechetical Groups to take an interest in the lives of children worldwide. It collects funds to support projects promoting children's spiritual and physical welfare in the developing world and provides assembly materials each term.

The Society of St Peter the Apostle (S.P.A.) raises money to support the training of students for the priesthood and religious life in the developing world. Resources are scarce but vocations are many.

The Pontifical Missionary Union is not fund-raising, but has the task of raising awareness of missionary issues. For this Mission Outlook is published quarterly.
