Catholic Association for Racial Justice

Data on this page is provided for information purposes only and the Catholic Diocese of Portsmouth is not responsible for its accuracy.

The Society was formed in 1984 with the approval of the Bishops' Conference as a national membership organisation of black and white Catholics concerned to work for racial justice in the Church and in society. It works with parishes, Justice and Peace groups, schools, seminaries and related Catholic and ecumenical organisations. It promotes Racial Justice Sunday (2nd Sunday in September) within the Catholic community, an ecumenically observed opportunity for reflection, sharing, learning and celebration. Funds raised are divided between the work of the Association and the Ecumenical Racial Justices Projects Fund.
