On Saturday 9th July, 91 Couples, together with their guests, came together in St. Bede’s Church, Basingstoke, to celebrate a Significant Wedding Anniversary, all totalling, 3,753 years of Marriage.
The Anniversary Mass was celebrated by Bishop Philip who acknowledged their Significant Anniversaries, and the sanctity of Marriage. The Music/singing was provided by Chris Olding, Diocesan Musical Director and the Diocesan Choir.
The Couples received a personal invitation to attend this Significant Anniversary Mass. In front of the Bishop and invited guests, couples renewed their Marriage Vows, and gave thanks for Married life.
This has become an Annual Event. Now in its 8th year, in the Diocesan Calendar, a day of celebration, well received and looked forward to every year.
Following Mass, and the throwing of lots of confetti as the Couples left the Church to the Wedding March, 465 people joined the Bishop for an Anniversary lunch, this hosted by Fr. Christopher Rutledge and the St. Bede’s Parish.
As the Couples left, they were also given a Certificate to mark this special day.
