HAITI
The news from Haiti is heartbreaking. The loss of life, the destruction of buildings and the whole fabric of civic life – all are devastating features of the burdens now having to be borne by the survivors.
I offer my heartfelt prayers and those of the whole diocese of Portsmouth to the people of Haiti. I promise that, together with CAFOD, we will do all we can to help.
I am praying particularly those who have died so tragically and their families which are suffering such sad bereavement. In a special way, I will be remembering my brother bishop, Archbishop Serge Miot, who is said to be among those who have died.
